Anna Kordunsky reports in the Christian Science Monitor that the the gap in economic inequality is increasing across the globe, however, not all countries have gaps mirroring the one in the U.S. Kordunsky’s article has links to many good references on this topic. For instance, she found that most Western countries do not have gaps similar to the one in the U.S.; the U.S. gap compares to the gap in Chile.
The Booking’s Institute hosts a debate on the question: Is poverty an economic or a cultural problem. Click here for a brief overview and a video of the full debate. FYI: the answer to the question is “yes.”
