Weber State University (Ogden, UT) Students Develop App to Help Document Homeless in California

Colleagues from Weber State University are part of AASCU’s Economic Inequality Initiative. They asked us to share the news about the app with the broader community involved in the initiative:

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University computer science graduate Mike Beasley worked with WSU assistant computer science professor Ted Cowan and students to create a mobile app that will help document the homeless in Santa Clara County, California during its homeless census Jan. 27-28.

WSU was contracted by the city of San Jose to work on the app and partnered with Community Technology Alliance, a non-profit group whose mission is to use technology to develop solutions to end homelessness and poverty.
