Operation Recruit and Retain: continued

This study done by the AAUW is a research project done in 2010 to answer the question of why there are so few women in the STEM fields. The investigation is extensive and examines the behavior of young girls and boys as they progress in their studies of science, technology and math. It also includes the change in behavior due to inserted challenges related to verbal negativity and stereotypes. The research continues with examples of ways to recruit and retain by using Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) as a guide; as they have a strong history of  producing minority female graduates at the undergrad, graduate and doctorate levels.
